Abstract

Patient safety is the core of providing quality physical therapy in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Although serious adverse events in physical therapy are rare, all participants in patient treatment must be aware of them and actively participate in reducing their incidence. Special care for patient safety is required in interventions such as manual therapy as well as in providing physical therapy in intensive care units and COVID-19 wards. By applying action plans and checklists in treating patients with physical therapy, it is possible to achieve a safe environment in the physiotherapy treatment.
