Guidelines for the interpretation of Scripture

Abstract

A crucial and very practical issue today involves the question o f which method should be employed to interpret Scripture, for interpretation is necessary, as pointed out even by Jesus (Luke 24:27). This article begins with general guidelines, then moves to specific exegetical steps that help us understand God's Word. From the beginning, we must keep in mind that the goal o f our interpretation must be to create a "burning heart" (Luke 24:32) in both the expositor and i n the audience, which draws them closer to God.
