Abstract

The paper focuses on the phonological, morphological, and lexical variants in the text of the Epistle on Sunday, written by the priest Mikula from Lindar in 1379 which was added at the end of the Glagolitic miscellany kept in the National Library of Paris
under the signature Code Slave 73. The Glagolitic text is compared with a matching Latin text from the 12th century. The distribution and functionality of selected examples are determined, which also reveals certain stylistic peculiarities of
translators/writers in creating the selected variant of literary language. In addition to the paper in Latin transliteration, the text of the studied epistle and two texts of heavenly epistles from Glagolitic manuscripts of the 18th century were published.
