Abstract

On August 4, 2012, the Government of the Republic of Croatia passed the Law on Medical Sašiste Fertilization (hereinafter: the Law), which regulates the conditions for exercising the right to medical assisted reproduction and the rights, obligations, and responsibilities of all participants in the process of medically assisted reproduction. The Law contains provisions that are in accordance with the acts of the European Union, and which refer to the determination of quality and safety standards for the procedures of donation, procurement, testing, processing, preservation, storage, and distribution of tissues and cells of human origin, as well as certain technical requirements in donation, acquisition, and testing of tissues and cells of human origin. The Directive of the European Parliament and the Council is also implemented, and they relate to requirements for monitoring, reporting of serious adverse reactions and occurrences, and certain technical requirements related to labeling, processing, preservation, storage and distribution of tissues and cells of human origin.
