Abstract

The introduction gives a short review of computer programs for drawing map projections developed around the world and, especially, at the Institute for Cartography of the Faculty of Geodesy, University of Zagreb. The paper presents the computer program "Map Projections" written in Borland Delphi for Windows operating system. The program includes 85 map projections of the Earth's sphere that, with few exceptions, can take normal, transverse or oblique aspect. The program draws meridians, parallels and data from files (continents, boundaries, rivers etc.). Mapping area can be framed with meridians and parallels, rectangle, and in azimuthal projections with circle. The drawing can be exported to other graphical computer programs or printed at exact scale.
