Abstract

The influence of levelling rods scale corrections on accuracy of the Second Precise Levelling – II PL at the territory of Croatia, Bosnia and Hercegovina, Slovenia, Monte Negro and Vojvodina has been examined. In spite of theoretical expectations, scale rod corrections have not significantly influenced the increase of measurement accuracy. It has also been deduced that the measurement data of the II PL can be used without scale corrections. Of course, such procedure would be in confrontation with professional and scientific tasks dealing with levelling measurements processing. The analysis of scale corrections has defined the correlation between diagram of total misclosures of levelling lines and levelling rods used for measurements is present, as well as significant presence of systematic error compensation in levelling lines. The relation between levelling figure misclosures, with and without levelling scale corrections, is not logical as refered to the theoretical expectations.
