Abstract

This article deals with the examination of the feasibility of GPS for establishing of accurate local geodetic networks in urban areas. Different models of network estimations and of weight optimisation for GPS vectors were examined by introducing of fixed and floating solutions in calculations. Numerical data were taken from GPS network of the town of Zadar. Measurement of the distances and height differences made by Wild DI3000 distancemeter and T2000S electronic theodolite were used as an efficient reference data for independent evaluation of the accuracy in network estimations.
