Abstract
The aim of the study was to establish whether the continuous oral application of the preparation ZeoFeed /its main ingredient, over 80%, is the clinoptilolite sediment/, affects negatively the quality of laid eggs. The additive ZeoFeed was given to hens continuously in complete feed mixtures in the amount of 1% during 25o days. Included in the trial were 30 hens that were fed mixtures with the ZeoFeed and 30 control hens that were not given the said preparation. The hens were hybrid lines Isa Brown, housed individually in cages. Eggs for analysis were collected from each hen every four weeks, nine collections in all. During the laying period 270 eggs per group were analyzed. Egg mass, mass and share of the shell were observed. The trial results confirm that 1% of ZeoFeed added to the feed for laying hens did not have a negative effect on the observed indicators of egg quality. The differences between the groups were not statistically significant.
