Improving the Algorithm for the Transformation between Transversal Mercator Coordinate Systems on the Territory of Yugoslavia

Abstract

The improvements of the previously published algorithms are described. Determining the system in which the given point lies, and the system into which it should be transformed, is simplified. Special attention is paid to the calculation of the latitude φ1. The necessary members in formulas and the needed number of digits in constants have been determined by performing numerical tests in overlap regions. A detailed flowchart and a computation example are enclosed as well.
