Abstract

his paper provides a concise overview of the historical development of community service, a description of the legal changes that have taken place in the past 25 years related to the legal regulation of the sentence and execution of community service, as well as a description of the current legal framework that regulates this area. The work presents the case law (sentences) of all court instances in the Republic of Croatia, as well as statistical data related to the pronouncement and execution of community service in the last 25 years. In addition to the above, the authors attempt to point out current problems that appear in practice when determining work for community service, its implementation and execution, and to offer answers and solutions to these problems
