SENJ SUMMER CARNIVAL (Summary)

Abstract

The paper shows the history of the Summer Carnival of Senj, and is primarily based on the author’s own fieldwork research. The carnival was founded in 1976, and had its peak in year 2000. Although designed to be a tourist attraction, the Summer Carnival can thank its existence to the hundred-year-old carnival heritage, especially
evident from the saturnalia component of the Carnival.
