Single-Family Houses Designed by Zdravko Bregovac; Design Aspects and Spatial Organization

Žana Radetić

Abstract

This paper gives an analysis and an evaluation of design aspects and spatial organization of five selected single-family houses designed by the architect Zdravko Bregovac throughout the 1950s and 1960s. In spite of the fact that they were designed and built for various purposes ranging from a holiday house (Blažević house) to an urban detached residential house (Hanžek house), the theme of individual housing is here linked with the architect’s entire architectural oeuvre. The analyzed examples reveal their tourist-related purpose and partly the design process applied to other hotel buildings designed by the same architect at nearby sites in a particular period.
