Abstract

A doll as a medium is known as a tool in working with children. A doll is a figure that reminds us of childhood and playing. The world of dolls is a world of humor, poetry, fantasy. A doll is omnipresent in human life both as a toy and as an artistic creation, as well as a stage prop. While playing, children bring dolls to life in their own unique way. Doll toys encourage them, whereas doll stage props slowly open them the door to art, developing a sense of the good, the noble, the moral, the beautiful. Stage puppets have great strength and power over a child. Animated by a teacher’s hands, dolls become a favorite tool that children accept with joy. A doll encourages stage creativity, which successfully affects children’s feelings, coordination of movements, speech, which fully justifies its presence in the classroom. Today, it is no longer a question of whether a doll should be used in modern teaching or not, but a question of how to do it so that it is accepted by students and their parents and that it serves the purpose of achieving the teaching goal. Anyone who has used a puppet in any context can attest to the interest, preoccupation and enthusiasm that overwhelms children when they encounter a well-animated puppet. Teachers, as basic employees of an educational system, should be ready for more intensive use of puppets and puppet games in regular classes. Likewise, since a large number of librarians work at educational institutions and perform work closely related to the teaching process, their inclusion would be desirable. Anything students want and can give life to, anything they play with every day, whatever they can set in motion in their imagination can serve as a doll. A technically “perfect” doll is not required to be used in class. A doll can be anything – from plastic, rags, pieces of paper to packaging materials, all it takes is to have a wish and know how to breathe energy, soul, and life into it. We learn all our lives. Playing with dolls, which we introduce into classes, thus becomes a very effective way of learning for children. Playing is a natural activity, therefore it is essential in a child’s development and represents a basis for learning. Children can acquire social, cognitive and language skills through play. They gain self-confidence, which will come in handy in life. However, a doll achieves its greatest value in a student’s hands because this is when it triggers one’s overall engagement and creativity.
