Particle and nuclear physics for a knowledge-based society

Abstract
Salient features of the contemporary world are globalization and rapid changes, both science-generated. Today one hears that our knowledge is already enormous and that it is necessary only to appropriately apply it. We argue that the development even the existence of the contemporary world crucially depends on our creative capabilities – individual and collective, and it is present research and technological development (RTD), education, science and technology and information and communication technologies (ICT) that mold and increase our creative power. We will include all of these components under the term: knowledge.
