Abstract

The financial crisis that started in the United States of America reflected with different intensity on the eurozone countries, depending on the numerous macroeconomic, historical and structural country specific factors. In that light, the significant part of the paper is focused on some eurozone countries with lower level of development. At the same time, they were less prepared for recession defence. The aim of the paper is to analyse and compare the similarities between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia with chosen eurozone countries. Special attention is given to the parameters of competitiveness, monetary system, public sector and foreign debt with guidelines for future development.
