Abstract

The article deals with the criticism of the philosophy of Ludwig Klages, which his contemporaries such as Helmuth Plessner, Georg Misch and also Max Bense practiced in the 1920s and 1930s. The object of criticism was above all his thesis of the fundamental opposition of spirit and soul, but also his graphological writings. The focus of the analysis presented here is the elaboration of the incongruity of these critical voices, which refers to the fact that Klages is exposed to both naturalistic and irrationalistic accusations.
