Abstract

Cyber threats and attacks are increasingly impacting the world's healthcare systems, with negative consequences for the provision of healthcare and medical care, and even disastrous for the health and life of patients. The lack of experts in the field of information and cybersecurity, as well as the digital skills of healthcare workers related to this field, are increasing challenges today, both globally and in Croatia. This paper investigates the possibilities of higher education on information security and cybersecurity at universities and polytechnics in Croatia, with reference to the choice of subjects, modules and teaching topics on information security and cybersecurity in university and colleges curricula for the education of healthcare workers and medical professionals. The results provide an overview of university and professional studies in the field of information security and cybersecurity, as well as an overview of health and medical profession studies with a list of subjects that may deal with the field of information security and cybersecurity. In the conclusion, recommendations and guidelines for overcoming these challenges are given.
