Abstract

The paper focuses on basic features of teacher competence.
First, the relevance of content knowledge and the teacher’s personality is analysed in connection with the teaching practice. The core of the paper systematises and critically analyses different approaches to teacher competences starting from the relationship between “knowledge” and “ability”.
