Abstract

The paper deals with the increasing importance of emotional
competence for professionals responsible for education. Emotional competence means the ability to see one’s own and other people’s emotions on one hand and the ability to handle these emotions on the other. In five lessons, the author formulates his suggestions about how educational experts can achieve a higher degree of emotional competence. The underlying theory is Niklas Luhmann’s System Theory as well as Peter Senge’s Organisation Theory (Massachussets Institute of Technology).
