Abstract

Based on the researches of the halophyte flora and vegetation of the Tourist resort Zaton near Nin in May and June 2023, 58 taxa of vascular plants classified in 48 genera and 20 families have been registered. On the muddy soils of aproximately 2000 m2 surface, eight strictly protected taxa (Carex extensa, Cymodocea nodosa, Hainardia cylindrica, Ruppia maritima, Parapholis incurva, Salsola soda, Suaeda maritima and Triglochin barrelieri) in the floral composition and six associations (Cymodoceetum nodosae; Ruppietum maritimae; Suaedo-Salsoletum sodae; Juncetum maritimo-acuti; Puccinellio festucaeformis-Sarcocornietum fruticosae; Scirpetum compacti) and community species Spergularia salina in vegetation composition have been registered. Habitat types from NATURA 2000 are: Juncetum maritimo-acuti (Natura 2000 code: 1410) and Puccinellio festuciformis-Salicornietum fruticosae (Natura 2000 code: 1420). These plant communities are mosaically arranged in accordance with the mosaic arrangement of the main ecological factors (depth and salinity of water, changes of the high and low tide and the soil texture). Therefore these researches point out the great biological diversity and the need for the concrete measures of protection.
