Abstract

A joint venture involves numerous risks, the most salient of which are
management risks. Certain management risks are inherent to all joint ventures, while
others are specific to a certain context or also expressed in the case of hierarchical
performing. The research identifies the most salient management risks of joint ventures
in general, while the case study identifies specific characteristics regarding contextual
factors. The most pronounced management risks in the context of domestic, bilateral,
parity, vertical and equity joint ventures were identified as follows: incompleteness and
disagreement on some terms of the contract, disagreement on allocation of works, overinterference
by parent company, and lack of management competence of partner.
