Abstract

The main goal of this paper was to determine whether there is a difference in the percentage of injured students who studied at the Faculty of Kinesiology of the University of Zagreb in accordance with the study plan and program from 2009 and 2022. Data were collected using a questionnaire. The number of participants in 2009 was 77, 62.33% of which were injured, while in 2022, 76 students participated in the study and 45% of them were injured. Comparing the frequency of injuries among students surveyed in 2009 and 2022, there is no statistically significant difference in terms of the reduction in the number of injuries (p = 0.92). Given that the number of injured students is high, there is a need to introduce concrete measures to prevent their injuries in terms of adjusting the study plan and schedule in order to improve the quality of teaching and the safety of students in practical courses. It is also suggested to introduce prevention programs in order to support students so that they are physically more prepared for the demands of practical courses. Finally, future research should establish the level of effectiveness of such preventive measures.
