Kindergarten of the Society of St. Cyril and Method in Lovran (Chronicle)

Abstract
The legacy of Dr. Uliks Štanger of Opatija at the Institute for Historical and Social Science of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts contains material pertaining to the Kindergarten of the Society of St. Cyril and Method in Lovran. As this material has never been discussed, believing that the entire legacy relating to the activities of the Society of St. Cyril and Method in Istria was kept at the Lovran library within the legacy of Viktor Car Emin, it is particularly interesting for the history of pedagogy of West Croatia to present this material dealing with the kindergarten in Lovran during the second decade of the 20th century. Operating in extremely difficult conditions of explicit Italianization, the Kindergarten of the Society of St. Cyril and Method in Lovran brought together children of preschool ages and contributed to the struggle against denationalization of Croatian children under the direction of teacher Ivanka Sajević.
