Abstract

Considering extremly dangerous nature of nuclear matter, amendments to the existing regulation concerning the liability for compensation of nuclear damage were found necessary. Having in mind defi ciencies of Paris and Vienna Convention, in 1997. Convention on Supplementary Compensation for Nuclear Damage was adopted with the intention of creating global regime of liability. Convention is consistent with the basic nuclear principles but it also contains many encanced provisions compared to previously mentioned nuclear conventions and it gives, in the opinion of authors, adequate protection to injured parties. Likewise, by introducing the Convention on Supplementary Compensation for Nuclear Damage a major breakthrough towards the unifi cation of nuclear law was made
