The Importance and Understanding of Culture in the Light of Gaudium et Spes

Abstract

The paper deals with the issue of the importance and understanding of culture at the Second Vatican Council, with special emphasis on the concept of culture and its perspective in the Pastoral Constitution on the Church in the Modern World Gaudium et Spes. The main aim of this paper is to highlight the importance of certain aspects of Gaudium et spes, offering a positive assessment of culture in light of the needs of evangelization and emphasizing the issues and challenges of inculturation.
