Abstract

From the invention of printing to the present day, when books can be read on various electronic devices, before reading the first word, the reader encounters the way the text is formatted. Not so long ago, a printed book or other graphic product was the product of knowledge and experience of several different professions, and today, with the emergence of various tools that are more or less easy to use, this work has almost become trivial. Accordingly, the resulting products could often be much better if only the author had been aware of it. The Zagreb Library Association (ZLA) has been present on social networks since 2013, and since the very beginning of 2020, the content published on the ZLA social networks has become recognizable by its various sections, some of which serve to entertain and help followers get away from everyday problems, and some are informative. One of the sections of the ZLA social networks is called Fontastic Stories and it describes a different font every month. The paper discusses this column, which led to the need for such content on social networks being noticed, the choice of format and layout, and the compromises that had to be made to give the column its final appearance.
