Abstract

The monument to the Czech writer and politician Viktor Dyk on Lopud, near Dubrovnik, was erected in 1936, on the fifth anniversary of his sudden death on the island. Although no primary sources survive, it has been attributed to architect Nikola Dobrović based on his distinctive
design language. This article presents findings from archival research and contemporary publications, which suggest a design contribution by Czech architect František Lýdie Gahura.
