Abstract
The paper presents he strengthening of masonry structures after the 2020 earthquake that hit the city of Zagreb. The most commonly used systems and materials are described, as well as the method of installation itself, from preparatory to final works. Considering the type of damage and depending on the structural element, the parts of the building as a whole were reinforced. Reinforcement procedures and methods are carried out using modern technology, they are very effective because they give the structure and its parts the necessary stability, strength and durability. During the renovation, the goal of the designers is to increase the seismic resistance level of the buildings, thus ensuring that the buildings do not suffer major structural damage during the next possible earthquakes. In the following, individual wall strengthening procedures are given and explained in detail: grouting, strengthening with carbon fabrics and carbon ropes, and strengthening load-bearing brick walls (with shotcrete) with shotcrete.
