Abstract
Systematic overview of plant structure on different localities had shown rich populations of wild fig trees and existence of morphological differences between trees. On the basis of comparing and taking into account basic characteristics such as growth habit, characteristics of leaves and blooms, certain trees as potential types of wild fig that can be found in Herzegovina have been differentiated.
During the years of research (2001, 2002, 2003), phenological observation of blooming on separated trees of wild fig was ben done. Time of blooming was monitored, i.e. maturation of selected types of wild fig. Description of wild fig types included description of growth, leaves and inflorescence (number of inflorescences, number of gall flowers, presence of female flowers, number of male flowers, time for pollen maturation, and time, rate and duration of Blastophaga’s exit and presence of parasitic insects) with the use of standardized description lists for fig.
