Abstract

Sea pollution from ballast water is extremly serious problem that most coastal countries are dealing with today. Being aware of this, International Maritime Organization introduced in 2004 the International Convention for the Control and Management of Ships' Ballast water and Sediment. This Convention represents the first comprehensive international legal instrument which regulates the transfer of dangerous aquatic organisms problem area. The author in this article analizes most important paragraphs of this document.
