Abstract
This research investigates the developmental changes in visual configurational memory in school-aged children. The aim of this study was to establish the differences in immediate recall of Rey-Osterrieth Complex Figure Test (ROCFT) among children aged from 7 to 13 years. 270 children were tested. Their productions were evaluated using the standardized scoring system based on two criteria: procedural types and unit scoring. The main findings suggest the increase in number of correctly reproduced elements with age up to the age of 10, while the results of older groups did not differ significantly. The procedural type III was dominant throughout the examined age range, while the frequency of procedural type I/II significantly increased between ages 9 and 10. The developmental changes in immediate recall of ROCFT are discussed in relation to the findings of recent research on CNS development.
