FLAX IN PRODUCTION AND USE

Abstract

Article present flax production in Croatia from 1934 to 1987 and gives an overview on possibilities of their use.
Production of flax in 1990’s in Croatia got into crisis. Reduction of production area can be noticed in the rest of ex-communist European countries. Therefore this decrease of production, in relation to traditional one, can be connected with privatization of production and manufacturing facilities, but not with abandon of interest for this very useful plant production. Because of many ways of use, we believe that flax has insured its better future and place in plant production, which it deserves.
