Abstract
In this article production capacity and production of nursery olive trees in Croatia are analysed . Legal directives as well as measures of support for this production are also analysed. In the Republic of Croatia there are 18 orchards of olive mother trees and twenty
nurseries. The orchards of olive mother plants include 26 cultivars and 3705 olive trees. Nursery production in the period between 2000 and 2006 rose and in the year 2006 achieved 575881 nursery trees (22 cultivars), and the predominant cultivar was Oblica.
There are potentials for production increase. Mist propagation is today a dominant method of nursery olive tree production in
Croatia and in the world. In Croatia the production of nursery olive plants by this method is about 90% of total production.
