Abstract

The knowledge-based society mainly depends on the efficiency of education, especially higher education. The modification of the education process to the actual and foreseen needs of the countries in the European Union is expressed through the Bologna process, where quality assurance represents one of the main pillars. Croatia must be integrated in this process and in 2003 a Law on science and higher education was adopted by the Croatian Parliament. The article 2 of this Law states: 'Science and Higher education represent activities of special interest for the Republic of Croatia and are part of the international, especially European, scientific, artistic and education area'. A stronger involvement of students in the education process and consideration for their opinions are important prerequisites for the level of quality we want to achieve. This article analyses the results of students' opinion surveys and possibility to use these results in order to increase the general level of quality in the education process.
