Abstract

The goal of this paper is to measure size and growth of the Croatian ICT sector and its contribution to overall Croatian economy. Internationally accepted definition of ICT sector is the methodological basis of the empirical part of this paper. ICT sector consists of two segments: ICT manufacturing segment and ICT services sector. Measuring show that ICT sector has a relatively small share in overall Croatian economy. ICT sector has faster production growth in relation to total growth of all businesses in Croatian economy. ICT productivity coefficient indicates steady growth. ICT sector’s biggest contribution to economy can be seen in its share of total revenue. ICT services sub sector gives the biggest contribution to Croatian economy. ICT services have greater success than ICT manufacturing in total output, number of employees and in total revenue. Economic ICT industry indicators show a possibly significant ICT sector influence on economic growth and productivity in Croatian economy.
