Abstract

The socio-spatial structure of Zagreb is researched in the work through the use of factor analysis. Three were derived using factor analysis of 16 manifest variables. The fi rst factor (socio-economic) has a sectoral spatial pattern; the second factor (labour status) has no manifest spatial pattern, while the third (family) bears circular features of the spatial pattern. It is shown that the greatest spatial differences between sections of the city are determined by socio-economic variables. The results of research indicate that socio-spatial polarization is present in Zagreb.
