Abstract

Bc Renata is a soft white winter wheat developed by the Bc Institute for breeding
and production of field crops Zagreb. It was released in 2007. The abbreviated
parentage of Bc Renata is BC MOLD1304-83 / SLAVONIJA // BC 87-87 /3/ KITE.
In three-year testing by the Commission for Varieties Approval, Bc Renata
displayed a high capacity for yield. The new variety was superior in yielding capacity to
the control standard variety Sana, Žitarka and Divana. Obtained average yield for all
locations was 7.707 kg/ha. Variety Bc Renata appertains in the group of middle early
varieties. Plant height of Bc Renata is about 98 cm and it has good lodging resistance.
Regards to quality it belongs to the group of very good bread varieties with a quality
number – 50.8 FJ and quality group B1. Bc Renata belongs to second (II) class of
quality.
