Architecture of Iconostases in Herman Bollé’s Oeuvre

Abstract

The paper explores structures of iconostases in the architecture of Herman Bollé. Bollé’s designs show his understanding of the Byzantine style as a synthesis of elements from Byzantine, Early Christian, Romanesque, Renaissance and Classicist architecture.
