Zagreb as the Centre of Intercity Railway Traffic

Abstract

The paper analyses the importance of Zagreb as a centre of intercity railway traffic. It presents the development and structure of traditional railway network from 1970-1990 and the most recent plans for opening international intercity lines and their incorporartion in the European intercity network. The effects of this process on the urban development of Zagreb are considered.
