The Development of the Railway Network in the Danubian Countries

Abstract

This article highlights the development of railway network from the beginnings with the horse-drawn railways up to postwar period form geographical, economic and political points of view. The development is classified into periods and discussed in the light of its political and economic background as well as regards its geographical, political and economic impacts.
