Abstract

Haiti after the earthquake - the human exodus and catastrophic destruction. Some experts have already warned at possible major earthquake at this region. Unfortunately, nothing was undertaken because the priority of Haitians was how to survive, and protection from hurricanes. The fact is that Haiti doesn't have any seismological station. Furthermore, the deficiency of the laws, seismic regulations, inspection and expert personnel, led at use of substandard construction material and use of "personal" construction standards. Unfortunately, the majority of other countries in the world aren't in better situation. Author of this article wants to sensiblise the public to support and accelerate expert efforts to clarify "moods" of earthquakes and make preventive protection against destruction of strong earthquakes around the world. To become an international obligation for all, to cause as little damage as posibile to citizens and property. Because, unfortunately, science still does not know - how to avoid earthquakes.
