Journal of Maritime and Transportation Sciences is a multidisciplinary scientific journal under the publishing of the Association for Promotion and Development of Maritime Industries. The Journal is published semiannually since 1963. The following core topics are covered within the Journal's publishing scope: • cartography • inland waterways • intelligent transport systems • intermodal and multimodal transport • marine geology • maritime and traffic law • maritime electronics • modern transportation and maritime technologies • navigation • navigation information systems • protection of the sea and coastal environment • safety on sea • marine engineering • shipping and traffic economics • tourism • traffic logistics • transport infrastructure, superstructure and equipment The Journal further covers other areas of technical, natural and social sciences multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary related to maritime affairs, transportation and traffic. Papers published in the Journal are classified as scientific papers, professional papers, short communications, news, reviews, conference communications and reports.

- Rights: Open Access Statement The Journal of Maritime and Transportation Science promotes thematic and disciplinary openness. This allows free access, searching, reading, downloading, and other legal uses. The Journal of Maritime and Transportation Science publishes thematic issues twice a year. It also publishes a special issue every two years: Conference Proceedings- International Conference on Marine Technology in memoriam Academic Zlatko Winkler. The publication of the journal is financed by the Primorsko-goranska county. Charges The journal does not charge authors to receive, review, or publish papers. The journal supports open access, which means that all content is freely available without charge to users or their institutions. Paper Submission The Editorial Board accepts only unpublished manuscripts in English. All manuscripts undergo an initial editorial review to determine if the manuscript meets the journal's scholarly and editorial standards and fits the journal's goals and themes. Once approved by the editor, the manuscripts undergo a review by at least to reviewers. After receiving the reviews, the authors should send a cover letter to the editors, together with the new version of the manuscript, stating which suggestions of the reviewers they accepted and which they did not (with explanation and argumentation). The editors send a new, corrected version of the manuscript and a cover letter to the reviewers, who decide whether to accept the article in this form. The final decision to accept an article for publication is made by the Editor-in-Chief. All manuscripts submitted by authors in English will be proofread and edited by a native speaker or a professional editor to eliminate spelling and grammatical errors and preferably errors in writing style. Plagiarism Plagiarism is a form of piracy that involves the unauthorized use or imitation of language patterns (representations, images, or tables) and thoughts of others and presenting them as one's own original work without asking permission or crediting the author of the original content. Plagiarism usually involves using someone else's material, but it can also mean copying one's own previously published research without citing it (sometimes referred to as self-plagiarism or duplicate publication). License and Copyright The Journal of Maritime and Transportation Science is licensed under CC BY-NC (Attribution, Non-Commercial). Authors retain copyright and the right to publish all articles and content published in the journal under their own names as long as they observe proper citation of the published article. In the case of discontinuation of the publication of the journal, the published issues of the journal will be kept permanently on the Portal of Croatian scientific and professional journals-Hrčak.
