Historical Contributions (Povijesni prilozi) is classified as an A1 category journal, which denotes journals of a quality equivalent to those with internationally recognized peer review. The journal is published by the Croatian Institute of History (Opatička 10, 10 000 Zagreb, Croatia), which also hosts the editorial board. From 1982 to 2000, the journal was published annually, and since 2001 it has been published biannually. The journal is published primarily in Croatian, although contributions by domestic and international authors are occasionally published in foreign (world) languages. Povijesni prilozi is a scholarly journal that publishes research in the field of history and ancillary historical disciplines, covering the period from antiquity to the turn of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. The journal publishes the following categories of contributions: original research papers, preliminary communications, reviews articles, presentations from scholarly meetings; articles; book reviews and notices; interviews, obituaries and so on. Authors are required to register and submit their manuscripts via the Open Journal System (OJS), available at: https://hrcak.srce.hr/ojs/index.php/povijesni-prilozi/index The journal uses double-blind peer review process, meaning that the identities of authors and reviewers are mutually anonymous throughout the entire review procedure. Authors are therefore required to remove all identifying information, including names, affiliations, and any references in notes that could reveal their identity, prior to submission. The journal accepts scientific articles ranging from 6,000 to 15,000 words, including notes, tables, figures, and other supplementary materials. If the article exceeds this scope, please contact the editors. The journal adheres to the principle of non-discrimination and is open to submissions from all authors without restriction. No submission or publication fees are charged. Manuscripts are accepted on a continuous basis throughout the year.
