Abstract

During 2009 and 2010 in the field trial in Županja six sweet corn hybrids (OS
250S., OS 254su., BC 274su., BC 378su., Spirit and Bonus) were sown in three variants
of fertilization. The potassium (K) fertilization significantly improves characteristics of
sweet corn. Increased potassium fertilization (T3 - 180 kg K2O) compared with control
(T1 - 130kg K2O) results in a larger diameter of cobs (20%), higher cob weight (10%)
and an earlier tasseling and silking for 3 to 7 days.
