Sažetak

The author refers initially to diverse theories written on the etiology of wedtje deficiencies. Although the majority of the authors approves the mechanical theory, there is a definite number of those who think that the erosion cannot be caused by mechanical factors, but ascribe given deficiencies to the chemical or to the endogeneous factor. Excluding the mechanical factor as the only one in the etiology of the erosion, and wishing to stress the possibility of the existence of closely related causes of wedge deficiensis and liver diseases, the author analysed three cases, two of them being twins. There are obvious deviations from the normal values of the liver analysis in all the three cases, although the twins do not show any clinical symptom of that organ that has not been diseased either. The author deems that the disfunction of the metabolism of the liver could explaine the defects. Due to the small number of the cases analysed it is not possible to give the definite conclusion in the ethiology of the erosion; but she stresses that the metabolistic disfunctions are a potential cause of the wedge refects, and that the corresponding care should be taken about the liver — an organ, the disfunction of which leads to the disturbance of chemism in blood.
