Sažetak

Neurinomas are benign new masses that are formed from Schwann’s cells of the peripheral nerves sheaths. Although almost half of all neurinomas appear within the head and neck areas, their localisation in the nose and paranasal cavities is rare. They grow during a long period of time without any symptoms and while being diagnosed they are often of an impressive size. The paper describes the case of a patient whose only symptom was a blocked one side of the nose. Endoscopic and radiology check-up diagnosed a solid choanal polyp with the origin inside the ethmoid sinus. Endoscopic surgery of the left ethmoid sinus was performed. Immunohystochemical tumor cells show a positive reaction to S-100 protein which confirm the
diagnosis of an neurinoma. A year later there are no signs of any recidive.
