Sažetak
Renal tumours represent 2–3% of all tumours. Renal cell carcinoma is the commonest solid renal lesion and represents almost 90% of all renal malignancies. It is predominant in men, with peak incidence after 60 years of age. Thanks to modern imaging techniques, tumours are detected in early stage and inoperable carcinomas are rare. The gold standard of cancer treatment is surgery; if possible nephron-sparing surgery, open or laparoscopic surgeries are recommended. Modern drugs have prolonged life expectancy in metastatic disease.
