Sažetak
The aim of this review article is to find reflections on ecology, science, and development that resonate with the messages of the encyclical. Some of them are included as the underlying idea and leitmotif of the encyclical, some are only implicitly included or recognized in the text of the encyclical, and some, according to the author, gain new significance in the light of the encyclical. The overview is not all encompassing, but it aims to demonstrate that for a comprehensive approach to the issues and the reality, one should always search for independent sources and "parallel epicentres" of thought. These sources are presented according to the selection which is dictated by the reading of the encyclical Laudato si'. The field of biotechnology is selected as a case study, because the development in this area has direct consequences for the environment and the society.
