PUBLIC SUPPORT FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF RENEWABLE ENERGY SOURCES
L. De Paoli
A. Višković
Sažetak
In today's process of the transformation of the electrical energy sector, renewable energy sources and cogeneration have remained at the halfway point: on the one side, it is indisputable that they are in keeping with the growing trend to reduce negative environmental impact and on the other side they require public support that would rather accept a solution from the past than a market choice.
This article attempts to respond to important questions that are posed due to the ambiguous status of renewable energy sources, such as how much support for them should be secured in order for them to become competitive, to what extent is such support justified, and what forms of promotion would achieve the maximum social benefit?
After the initial determination of the framework of the policy for the support of renewable energy sources, cogeneration and energy saving, limitations to the emission of CO2 and financial limitations are discussed.
Ključne riječi
