Sažetak
Due to the construction of the Donji Miholjac beltway (Osijek- Baranja County), a field survey was conducted on the route across the soutwestern town limit, that is, a plain terrain with slight elevations where all the discovered sites have been located (fig. 1). Along with known sites, such as AN 2 Donji Miholjac – Vrancari and the west part of AN 3 Donji Miholjac – Mlaka/Trafostanica (Transformer Substation), three additional sites have been discovered. At the AN 6 Donji Miholjac – Đanovci site, ceramic fragments from all periods were discovered (Lasinja culture; Late Iron Age; Antiquity; early and late Middle Ages). Fragments of Antique pottery suggest there was a settlement along the road to Osijek (Mursa). The majority of surface finds was documented at the AN 7 Donji Miholjac – Panjik site, with a concentration of finds at two positions. To the east, fragments of Sopot culture were revealed, while the western part had many Baden culture finds. The AN 8 Donji Miholjac – Goračka is situated to the west, separated from Panjik site by a modern canal, which would suggest a unique Baden culture settlement. The field survey along the section of the Donji Miholjac beltway revealed many archaeological sites whose rescue excavations will allow new insight into the settling of Lower Podravina during all periods.
